Vị chiến lược gia người Ý – Maurizio Sarri có một chiến thuật đặc trưng mang tên Sarri-ball. Lối chơi của chiến thuật này có nhiều điểm tương tự với Tiqui-taca từng làm Barca điên đảo dưới thời HLV Pep Guardiola.
Sarri ball là gì?
Sarri-ball là một loại sơ đồ chiến thuật trong thể thao bóng đá, sở hữu phong cách tấn công đối phương dựa vào khả năng kiểm soát bóng và tốc độ truyền bóng, ban bật, đan xen liên tục.
Sau thời gian đầu mùa giải dẫn dắt Chelsea, huấn luyện viên Maurizio Sarri đã hướng đến cho các cầu thủ tiếp cận khung thành đối thủ bằng cách thực hiện những đường chuyền ngắn với xuất phát điểm là tiền vệ lùi sâu bằng tần suất liên tục, trung tâm của mạng lưới chuyển động là Jorginho – Học trò cũ ở CLB Napoli, để chia sẻ gánh nặng với Jorginho, Sarri cũng tính toán tới việc để trung vệ có khả năng chuyền dài sáng tạo, khả năng phát động tấn công bất ngờ, đó là David Luiz.
Cái mới trong triết lý Sarri ball mà HLV Sarri mang đến ban đầu đã tạo ra sự chuyển biến khá tốt cho Chelsea. Chiến thuật này thay đổi dần lối chơi nặng nề về phòng ngự dưới thời HLV Antonio Conte- người tiền nhiệm ở Chelsea ở các mùa trước khi Sarri đến.
Những hạn chế của chiến thuật Sarri ball
Khi những kiến thức về chiến thuật Sarri ball là gì được các học trò của mình thông hiểu, Chelsea đã bất bại tới 18 trận trên mọi đấu trường. Nhưng đến khi các CLB khác cũng giải mã được Sarri ball là gì thì chiến thuật này cũng cho thấy hạn chế và đơn giản, đó là 80% các đường lên bóng của Chelsea đều phải qua chân Jorginho rồi tới cầu thủ siêu sao Eden Hazard.
Việc này cho thấy thành tích của đội bóng phụ thuộc rất lớn vào phong độ của 2 cầu thủ này. Không thể hiện được sức mạnh tập thể của đội bóng, trong khi đó đội bóng của Sarri chưa bao giờ được đánh giá cao bởi khả năng phòng ngự. Ví dụ điển hình là trận thua tan nát của Chelsea trước Man City 0-6 rạng sáng 11/2 trên sân Etihad ở vòng 26 giải Ngoại hạng Anh mùa giải 2018-2019. Người hâm mộ The Blues đã không còn đủ kiên nhẫn với Chiến lược gia này.
Khi Sarri ball không còn phù hợp
Sarri để lại dấu ấn cho phong cách của mình tại Stamford Bridge bằng những con số cụ thể khi Chelsea kiểm soát bóng trung bình 65,8% mỗi trận ở Premier League – nhiều hơn 10% so với 55,4% ở mùa giải trước dưới thời HLV tiền nhiệm Antonio Conte. Nhưng đó chỉ là những con số không thể hiện được nhiều điều.

Khi Chelsea bị Man City thua tới 6-0, người hâm mộ và các chuyên gia cũng nhận ra lối chơi của thầy trò Maurizio Sarri có vấn đề. Sarri ball là gì mà là thứ vũ khí mà chiến lược gia người Italy hay gọi.
Có những trận đấu Chelsea chơi bóng như nước chảy mây trôi, cực kỳ biến hóa, nhưng không ít trận chiến thuật này thể hiện sự bế tắc không ngờ. Thống kê cho thấy “Siêu chuyền” Jorginho chuyển tới gần 2.200 đường liên tiếp mà chỉ tạo ra 15 key pass và không có kiến tạo thành bàn. The Blues thực sự sụp đổ qua những trận thua thảm họa trong lịch sử.

Lối đi nào cho Chelsea và Sarri-ball?
Thực tế, Sarri đòi hỏi các học trò phải có lối chơi chuyên nghiệp, có chiến thuật thay vì bản năng sẵn có của họ. Đây là vấn đề của Sarri thường gặp, chứ không chỉ riêng Chelsea mới gặp phải điều này. Nó cũng chứng minh rõ ràng rằng Maurizio Sarri và Chelsea vốn không hợp nhau từ triết lý.
Sự không ổn định của Sarri ball đã khiến Chelsea mùa trước phải cạnh tranh khốc liệt tấm vé dự Champions League đồng thời phải căng mình ra thi đấu giành danh hiệu tại chiến trường UEFA Europa League.
Tuy đứng thứ 3 tại giải quốc nội nhưng khoảng cách với Top 2 là CLB Liverpool lên tới 15 điểm (tương đương 5 trận thắng liên tiếp), đây là điều khó chấp nhận với người hâm mộ The Blues. Để lấy lại ánh hào quang như mùa giải 2005/2006 Chelsea cần phải có vị thuyền trưởng phù hợp và có hệ thống cầu thủ vận hành triết lý một cách trơn tru.
